Last updated October 17, 2026. This notice covers slitherworld.io, slitherworld.com and the Slither World iPhone app. For questions or a privacy request, contact support@slitherworld.com.

Information used to run a game

You can play as a guest without giving us an email address. We use a guest identifier, your chosen display name and snake appearance, party membership, matchmaking requests, connection information and gameplay inputs to connect you to a room and run the game. Other players can see your display name, appearance and the game information shared by your mode, such as score, team or match result.

The game servers and network providers receive connection metadata, including IP addresses, request times and browser/network information. This is used to deliver the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures and measure service performance. Cloudflare serves the website and protects the matchmaking API; OVHcloud hosts gameplay and control services in the United States.

Storage on your device

The browser uses local storage for a guest identity and preferences, and tab-scoped session storage for party credentials and tab choices. If you sign in, a sign-in cookie or token (in the iPhone app, the Keychain) keeps you signed in until 60 days after you last use it. Clearing website data resets those saved values and can prevent reconnection to an existing session. The installed iPhone app keeps guest, party and admission credentials in the device's Keychain and stores preferences locally. Backgrounding closes the gameplay connection.

Sessions and recovery

The coordinator saves party and matchmaking state so an interruption can be recovered without assigning duplicate seats. Access to recovery backups is restricted and their contents are encrypted. Backups rotate within a bounded storage and copy limit. Live gameplay state is not a saved game: Infinite snakes are killed on exit or disconnection, and their length is not restored. Battle Royale reconnection is limited to the original match and its remaining reconnect rights.

Website analytics

On slitherworld.io and slitherworld.com we use Google Analytics to count visits, see how long players stay and which modes and languages they use, so we can understand our traffic and share these totals with advertising partners. When you play on the website outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies and receives your IP address, browser and device information, the page you open without its link details (such as lobby invites), when you press Play or start a game, the game mode and the language the game shows. Google signals and ad personalization are off for this data. Google Analytics does not load in the iPhone app, when the game is shown inside another site such as CrazyGames, when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or after you turn it off in Your privacy choices. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Browser advertising and privacy choices

Where enabled after approval, browser advertising uses Google AdSense and Google's game ad placement service. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar storage, IP addresses and browser information to serve and measure advertising. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's advertising information.

Use Your privacy choices to disable advertising and analytics on this browser or review available Google consent and US opt-out choices. We honor a supported Global Privacy Control signal by disabling advertising and analytics for that visit. Required consent must be resolved before our ad placements request an ad. You can continue playing if you refuse consent, block ads or receive no ad. Live advertising is off while release or approval checks are pending.

The installed iPhone build does not load the browser advertising, Google consent or Google Analytics scripts. It does not use the browser advertising integration.

Optional accounts

Signing in is optional. If you sign in with Google, Discord, Apple or an emailed code, we store an account identifier, your username, the sign-in methods you link with the email address or account identifier each provider shares, and signed-in sessions (stored as one-way hashes). Emailed sign-in codes are sent with Cloudflare Email Service. Game servers report results for signed-in players, and we keep your stats (Battle Royale matches, placements and wins, snakes cut off, days at #1, pellets eaten and best length), your coin history, the hats, body effects, cases and keys you own (including each item's condition), what you wear and the cases you earn. Other players see your username with a verified mark and the hat and body effect you wear, including how worn they are. If you use the Market or trades, we keep your listings, sales, purchases and trade offers; other signed-in players can look up your username to see the items you can trade. We can email you when an item you listed sells or you receive a trade offer (at most once an hour, only to a verified address); you can turn these emails off in your account or with the link in each email. Account data is stored with Cloudflare.

You can delete your account from the Account screen. Deleting removes your username, stats, coins, items and sign-in methods, ends your billboard ads and signs you out everywhere. We keep records of purchases, coin transactions, Market sales, trades and billboard ads, without your username or sign-in details, where we need them for accounting, tax, fraud prevention or other players' histories.

Purchases

Stripe processes purchases on the website and Apple processes App Store purchases. We receive the product, amount, currency, a transaction identifier and its status, never your full card details. We use them to add coins or billboard days, handle refunds and prevent fraud; a refund removes the coins or unused billboard days it granted.

Billboard ads and view counts

Pictures you submit for a billboard are stored privately until reviewed. Approved pictures are published at a public address and shown on signs in game worlds. Game servers count a view when a sign face is on a player's screen for about a second; advertisers see daily totals only, never who viewed. When someone reports an ad we store the report reason and, for a signed-in reporter, their account, or for a guest, a key derived from their IP address and the date, so reviewers can act and prevent abuse.

Support messages and your choices

If you email support, we receive your address and the information you send. Cloudflare routes these messages to our Google-hosted support inbox. We use them to respond and investigate your request. Please include only information needed to explain the issue. You can ask us to access, correct or delete information associated with a support request or guest session; we may need enough information to verify that the request is yours. We retain operational and support information as needed to operate the service, resolve issues and meet applicable obligations.

Audience and updates

Slither World is a general-audience game. It is not specifically directed to children under 13, and we do not ask players for sensitive personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support, contact us so we can address it. We update this notice when the service's data practices change.
